In a significant development for Shreveport’s economy, SLB has announced a $30 million investment to expand its operations in Caddo Parish. This expansion aims to bolster global digital infrastructure and data center growth, positioning Shreveport as a key player in the international tech landscape.
The project will transform the former GM assembly plant into a modern, climate-controlled advanced manufacturing hub. This initiative is expected to create 600 direct new jobs, with an additional 744 indirect jobs, totaling 1,344 new employment opportunities in Northwest Louisiana.
Governor Jeff Landry highlighted the state’s industrial capacity and skilled workforce as pivotal factors in attracting such investments. SLB’s expansion underscores Louisiana’s appeal to global companies seeking competitive growth environments.
Construction is slated to begin in January 2026, with staffing increases planned through 2027 as new areas of the site become operational. This development not only revitalizes a historic facility but also strengthens Shreveport’s role in the global digital infrastructure sector.
